Whit’s Favorite Little Cook – WINNER!

After six challenges, and two rounds of finals, I’ve finally selected a winner for my Favorite Little Cook Cooking Competition . I had the best time making all of your dishes and had even more fun eating all of them haha. For the final challenge , I asked that the finalists submit recipes using three of these ingredients — sugar, butter, flour, eggs, chocolate, peanut butter, and baking powder. They were allowed to use any other ingredients in addition to the three they chose. All of your submissions were amazing, but I could only choose one winner.

And the winner is… ASHLEY fromMISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO!!!!! Ashley, your Gotta Lava Peanut Butter Cup recipe was delicious and so creative! I can’t believe you made that up yourself. My sisters and I ate almost all of them, but we saved some to bring to my brother Ryan and his friends at their fantasy football draft. I hope the boys like them :)
Thank you so much to everyone who entered! I hope the finalists enjoy their Whitney Eve sweatshirts and Ashley, I hope you enjoy your sweatshirt and my three favorite cookbooks! Also, you’ll be getting a phone call from me shortly!
For those of you who want to try out Ashley’s delicious Gotta Lava Peanut Butter Cups, you’ll find her recipe below along with a little message from Ashley herself!
“As I peel back the velvety deep purple skin from this fresh fig I’m currently eating, I realized the more I cook and bake, the simpler my food seems to get. I went digging into my pantry to see what ingredients I had on hand to create something jaw-dropping delicious, but simple at the same time. So I decided to use the kitchen as my playroom and experiment with your ingredients and this is what I came up with…”

GOTTA LAVA PEANUT BUTTER CUP

Peanut Butter Dough
Ingredients:
1 cup Peanut Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Vanilla

To Prepare:
Lightly beat the Egg in a large mixing bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Set aside.

Ingredients:
Peanut Butter Dough (above recipe)
1/2 of a Bag of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (or any other solid chocolate you fancy)
3/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1 tbsp Butter, plus a bit extra for coasting muffin tins

How to Assemble:
Preheat the oven to 325F. To begin, Butter the inside of a Muffin Tin. Press about 2 tbsp of Peanut Butter Dough into the bottom and up the sides.

Fill the middle with about 1 tbsp Chocolate Chips. Melt 3/4 cup Peanut Butter with 1 tbsp Butter in microwave on med high heat until melted, about a minute or so. Then drizzle melted Peanut Butter over the top until you fill in all empty space between the Chocolate Chips.

Top this concoction off with another 2 tbsp Peanut Butter Dough, flattening it into a cookie like shape to cover.

Bake for 20 minutes. Check to see if the tops are brown. If not, continue to bake for another 5-10 minutes. Once baked to perfection, let the beauty cool for about 5 minutes. Flip it over onto a dish, take a spoon and dig in. The ooey-gooey chocolately deliciousness that fills this peanut butter cup will be so rich tasting in your mouth, you might be temped to eat the entire batch.
