Hi guys!
During the holidays everything gets so crazy in the kitchen. The other day when we were cooking for Thanksgiving my sister Ashley was in charge of making our family’s famous chocolate cake! Everything looked great when it came out of the oven, but when she went to flip the pan the cake wasn’t looking too presentable. Of course my dad and brother swooped in immediately to get their hands on whatever pieces of cake they could get! What has been your worst kitchen catastrophe??
xoxo,
Whit

we had a fried turkey and we were so excited because it was something new, so when my dad goes to cut into it, the insides are raw! Our whole turkey was unedible! And to make matters worse, the turkey left a huge grease stain on the tablecloth!
hi whitney
way back when i was like 7 years old me amd my cousins were making popcorn. so we made the popcorn and decicded it needed to be sugary. so we added brown sugar and left it to melt. we must have forgot about it because we ended up seting off the smoke alarm! as we tried to turn it off the neighbors started to complain. when we finlally turned it off the pan had this gross thick black crust lining the bottom of it. we had to throw it out because we couldnt get it off! but 10 years later we’ve got the hang of it!
right now i am quite a good cook, but about a few years ago i managed to set fire to a pancake while frying it and a few days later my friend threw a pancake against my kitchen ceiling which left a nasty grease stain! so, noone is perfect ;)
Hey Whit, so happy to see that you spent TG 2009 at home with your Family. So are you working on your designs for Spring 2010…I sure hope so..I can’t wait to see it!! Take care, GM
I deep fried for the first time like 5 years ago, well I turned the oil on the highest setting, first mistake. Then I got in a fight with my brother and stormed out of the kitchen and the oil caught on fire! My dad was trying to take the pot out to the backyard, he couldnt get the back door open so he set the pot down and it burnt a hole through my mom’s rug.
But now….I can deep fry like nobody’s business :) I think it’s the way to every guy’s heart
Hm, I definitely won’t be frying my turkey any time soon it sounds like! Tell your sister not to feel bad… the SAME thing happened to me when I tried to make an apple cake in the bundt pan. Grr.
I guess my worst kitchen disaster (although I don’t know if this counts since there wasn’t really any cooking) was when I made an egg salad sandwich for myself and got food poisoning. Ugh. Unbeknownst to me, the mayonnaise had gone bad… I totally forgot to throw it out when our fridge died just a week earlier.
