I just came across this cool daily newsletter, theSkimm, that makes staying in-the-know with news fun. You sign up with just your email address, and every day you receive a newsletter of quick, witty summaries of the hottest news of the day. The two founders (both women in their 20s) say it’s “for the educated professional who knows enough to know she needs to know more”— have to love women looking out for the greater good of women everywhere. Sign up and start reading! I know I will. xoxo, Whit

A Chrysalis Success Story
Hey guys,
I wanted to share this success story from a charity that I think does really great work, Chrysalis. The organization helps homeless and low-income individuals find jobs and retain employment. Here’s one of their recent success stories:
“Tiffany, a single mom, arrived at Chrysalis holding her newborn baby girl. She was homeless, jobless, and understandably scared.
Today, this single mom is realizing her dreams. Tiffany has a secure job at Nordstrom, her own apartment, and a community of support to help raise her beautiful little girl.”
This year, Chrysalis will help employ over 3,500 individuals. Please take some time to look at their website and read their mission. I attended the Chrysalis ball last year, and it was such a beautiful, inspiring and impactful evening— click through the gallery for a few pics from the event. xoxo, Whit
Back to School Nostalgia
So maybe I’m going a little overboard with the nostalgic posts— I can’t help it! Flashback Friday really got me in the spirit, and I keep finding myself drawn to these cute back-to-school ideas. Check out that amazing pencil cake! Who wouldn’t want that? I may not be going back to school but I can enjoy the season. Right? xoxo, Whit
