The Perfect Ponytail

Hi guys,
Here are Jackie’s tips on how to achieve the Perfect Ponytail!

Apply a texturizing product to damp hair (Enjoy Texture Spray is my pick). Roughly blow dry your hair upside down, using your fingers to add texture to it. Tease the crown of your head and then secure hair into a mid-height ponytail (slightly above your ears). Once secured, tease the hair in the ponytail for added texture. Spray with a flexible hold hairspray. Pull out face-framing sections of hair and use a flat to straighten them and create a slight bend at the ends.

Let me know how these hairstyles turn out if you try them!

Simply Straight

Hi guys!
When it comes time for holidays or special occasions I always find myself wanting to do something new and funky to my hair but end up resorting to something simple.  With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, I thought it would be fun and helpful to have my cousin Jackie share some hairdos with all of you.  They are simple styles that you can do on yourself or try on a friend. Even if you don’t have a special someone to share the holiday with, these hairdos are great for a fun night out with the girls or any special occasion!

Style #1:

Simply Straight – Start with damp hair. Apply a styling aid to help control frizz and add volume. (I like Enjoy’s Shaping Lotion). Blow dry your hair until it is about 80% dry. Then use a round brush to smooth out your hair, one section at a time. Concentrate the air flow towards your roots to create the most volume. When you hair is completely dry, spray your hair with a heat protector or shine spray (my favorite is Catwalk’s Camera Ready). Use a flat iron at medium heat on each section.

Tip: Round the flat iron at the bottom inch of you hair, bending the hair to avoid stick straight ends.

Six Steps to Getting the Perfect Curl!

Hey lovelies,
The past few weeks I have noticed that a lot of you ask how I curl my hair! Today I am going to tell you step by step what I do!

What you’ll need:
1 1/4″ Curling Iron
L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray (or any holding spray you like)

How to do it:
1. Make sure your hair is straight and dry
2. Start with the small pieces in the front and wrap hair around barrel then close the iron
3. Curl away from the face, not towards it!
4. Hold for 5 seconds and release
5. Keep working towards the back and curl each piece in the same direction
6. Finish with a light mist of hair spray and flip head and shake to loosen the curls

Let me know how it goes if you try this!!
