Best Dressed in Film
One of my favorite Oscar categories is costume design. When designers work on a movie, they let their imaginations go free and create rich, interesting pieces of clothing for their characters. Nothing exemplifies this more than this year’s list of nominees.
The designers for Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, Lincoln, Mirror Mirror, and Snow White and the Huntsman were all nominated for their work. Jacqueline Durran for Anna Karenina took home the award— click through the gallery to see all the Oscar-worthy costumes! xoxo, Whit
The Ultimate Neutral
Nude, a non-color that was once used primarily in pantyhose, has now taken over everything from coats to dresses to heels. The ultimate neutral went from being a color afterthought to now being a classic closet staple. Click through the gallery to see how adding a nude shirt or jacket can flatter your complexion, or how a nude heel can elongate the leg. xoxo, Whit
Belt It
When an outfit needs a pop of color or a little more shape, a skinny belt can step right in and amp up an outfit. Cinched around the waist, a skinny belt adds a ladylike quality to boxy dresses or coats. Looped through jeans, it helps a simple outfit look more pulled together. Take a look through the gallery to see how adding a skinny belt can change an outfit! xoxo, Whit
