Our First Night in Dubai :)

Hi dearies,

As soon as I arrived in Dubai I fell in love with the city. Upon arriving at our hotel we went for dinner. It was the most amazing buffet spread I have ever seen. There were sooo many options and I couldn’t believe that they put this buffet together three times a day (made me wonder what the do with all the leftovers!). Everything was so fresh and wonderful! I ate hummus, veggies, pita, lots of prunes and dates with an amazing nut spread, and a dessert called mahalabiya (a bread pudding that was amazing). Just my my kind of meal.
After dinner went outside and sat in a cabana overlooking this gorgeous pool and a man-made lake, kind of felt like I was in Vegas because it was so new and massive. Even though it was evening, it was still so hot — fortunately there was a fan spraying water which helped A LOT! I thought I loved the dewey look but it was more like the wet dog look I realized once I saw myself in the mirror. I am constantly sweating here, haha. Sorry for the TMI. We relaxed and enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere. We noticed that a bunch of the people around the pool were smoking hookah so we decided to do the same. Figured that if this is something that originated in the middle east then we might as well try it while we are over here. However, we learned that it is not called hookah here, it is called Shisha. We called it a night shortly after! My dad did not understand the whole thing but we forced him to get into it!
It was such a relaxing night and the perfect way to start the trip!
xoxo,
Whit

I was so surprised to see the picture of you with the narguile (another arab word for hookah or shisha)! I’m half arab and that stuff (the huge dinners and the narguiles) are such a part of our daily life that I take it for granted sometimes! So glad to see you are enjoying yourself over there!

    Love the pictures too ♥
