WHITNEY EVE SPRING COLLECTION, 2009

Hi guys!
I wanted to tell you all about an amazing opportunity I had this week.  Are any of you familiar with the artist Shepard Fairey?  You may not know the name, but you would for sure recognize his art. He is the artist behind the iconic Obama "HOPE" poster.

Shepard Fairey designed the "Defend Equality Love Unites" image at the request of young activists after the passage of Prop 8 in California. I am proud to be one of over 100 celebrities who have customized Fairey's original print in support of marriage equality.  I did not want to stray too much from his original idea, so I just used my artistic touch to make the print a little more bold!

The online auction is live for four weeks and all funds raised go directly to grassroots marriage equality organizations in California and beyond. Please take a look at CharityBuzz.com and spread the word about this amazing project!

xoxo,
Whit

Hi everyone!  Father's Day is coming up so I wanted to share some family photos with you.  I come from a family of five and my parents have always made us kids their number one priority so in honor of father's day I wanted to pay a special tribute to my dad.

I'm so fortunate to have a father who wanted to be involved in every facet of his children's lives.  He coached little league, helped us with our homework and made family dinners mandatory.  Family time played a huge role in my upbringing and even now I take full advantage of the time I get to spend with them.

These past few years have been crazy and my dad has done nothing but support me every step of the way!  I can't imagine going through this huge life transformation without him by my side and I'm eternally grateful for everything he has given me.  I'm a daddy's girl to say the least...always have been and always will be!

I of course can't recognize Father's Day without giving a special shout out to my Boppa (that's what I call my grandfather)!  He truly is amazing and I'm so thankful to have him in my life.

What are you guys doing for your dads and grandfathers this Father's Day???

Whitney-Port-Earth-Day-042209.jpgHappy Earth day everyone!  It's SO nice to have a whole day to reflect on how beautiful our planet is!  We often take advantage of our pleasant surroundings, but today you guys should all get outside and enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine.  Walk your dog a few extra times, make some lemonade, roll down the windows, eat lunch outside: all of these activities will totally brighten your mood!

It's easy to forget the benefits of getting at LEAST 20 minutes of sunlight everyday.  Vitamin D people!  Don't forget to be mindful of our resources too.  Conserve and do your part to keep the air clean by taking small measures such as recycling, walking or riding your bike, and watching your water usage.

How are all of you celebrating our beautiful planet today???

What an unbelievable and surreal day this 20th of January has been!

While watching the events of today's inauguration all morning, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with tears of excitement at the prospect of change!!! I have never been more proud to be a young, American adult.

Hey guys!!  Since we're all in the Thanksgiving spirit, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce you to some of my family!  Thanksgiving is such a special holiday for me because with my family spread out all over the country, this is one of those rare moments that we all get to spend time together!

In this little family album, you'll find photos of me with my older sister Ashley, my younger sister Jade, my mom, and Ashley's fiance and my future brother-in-law Evan.

I have such a big family -- so more photos to come of the rest of the Port clan in later posts!  xoxo

I'm so fortunate to have such a supportive group of friends in my life.  I've been going through such a huge transition, and I don't know how I would have done it without them!  I miss them so much because I don't get to see them that much since I moved to New York, but whenever we see each other, it's like I never left!

The first pic is of me and Andrea, who I've been best friends with since the third grade -- the second is me, Brittany, and Sydney in the Hamptons -- the third is me and Syd -- and the fourth is Syd and I at Havana Cafe in Soho.

Love you girls!!!!
