KONY 2012 from INVISIBLE CHILDREN on Vimeo.
Hi friends,
I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Kony 2012 video that went viral this week, and for those of you who haven’t, I feel it is my duty to share it with you. KONY 2012 is a campaign with a goal of making Joseph Kony, the Ugandan leader of the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) famous so he can then be brought to justice. Kony rules through violence, and he is responsible for abducting and forcing tens of thousands of children to fight for the LRA for the past 20 years.
The film was created by Invisible Children, a charity devoted to ending conflict in Uganda. As brutal as this video is, I think it’s important that we all take the time to watch and learn about something that so many of us just days ago were in the dark about. Awareness is such an important and powerful thing, and the internet gives us the means to spread the word. So watch this video, share with your friends and help make a difference.
