One night last year, I saw a group of men (about 15 of them) sitting at a table drinking beers. There was something really identical looking about them but I couldn’t put my finger on it. All of a sudden, I slapped myself upside the face and realized, DUHHHHHHH THEY ALL HAVE MUSTACHES! I thought to myself, this can’t just be a coincidence, this is a planned “look” and I had to know what was up. I approached them and asked what the deal was! Little did I know (admittedly ignorant) that this sudden sprout of temporary hair was for an amazing cause — Movember.
Movember is a full month dedicated by men to raise funds and awareness specifically for Prostate Cancer — something my dad was diagnosed with and survived. Just through this quirky action, men can increase knowledge and spread support for those who need to be proactive about a colonoscopy initiating early detection, men with cancer and those whom we have lost due to cancer. My father is partaking and while every time I look at him I giggle a little, the thought and the motive is really so amazing.
