Day 3: San Sebastian to Dusseldorf, Germany (DETOUR: to Brussels, Belgium)
Day 3 started at 3pm. Wow I am so tired! It took me a while but I packed up, ate a bite and headed to David’s suite to write. We tooled through several tracks but nothing really stuck before it was time to rush off to the airport. We got the airport ready and hyped for Love Parade and the million plus people waiting for David! BREAKING NEWS: Massive riots and people injured and dead at Love Parade!!!
We spent the next three hours on the runway with David trying to navigate if he was going to still perform or not. In the end we all felt it was in poor taste in light of what happened so we told the pilot to take us Brussels early for Tomorrowland. Of course on the plane out comes the mobile studio but exhaustion caught up. Within 30 min we were all passed out, thankfully not the pilots!! 2 hours later we landed in Beligum and were shuttled to the hotel where kids were waiting to take photos with David. This guy is such a massive star in Europe! I can’t wait until the US REALLY catches on other than his production. We found out today that he has sold 10 million records in the US, the biggest being “I Gotta Feeling” of course. Since David didn’t have a show now naturally we set up hotel room studios!!! We wrote w David and Fred until 5am!! So much fun but so much work and no sleep!! Finally at 5 we called it a night. What rollercoaster emotional day. For a moment the trip was so somber and our thoughts couldn’t help be with the injured and dead at Love Parade. David thinks Love Parade died yesterday too. So sad all around.
Anyway on to Day 4- Tomorrow? Tomorrowland Festival!!!! And probably a lot more writing!
