Since I was born, I have been going to lake of the Ozarks in Missouri every Summer. If anyone were to ask me where my favorite place in the world is, I would undoubtedly say the Ozarks.
My siblings and I have met lifelong friends there and it is just the most relaxing, refreshing and rejuvenating place for the mind, body and soul. Every day we take the boat out, lounge around, jet ski, tube -- the list goes on and on. We cook and eat lots of frozen custard!! Since I never went to summer camp, it is my version of just that.
My fondest childhood memories come from summers in the Ozarks with my favorite people in the world!!!!

Wow you look really cute as a kid! Yeah I used to holiday as a kid in the west of ireland. Nice, lots of rain and rocky beaches. Do you ever wear pyjamas? I was thinking you'd look really well in a white silken pyjamas, really tight. Liked the way you looked in the back in la blog. You look really skinny! Liked hair aswell. up. cool!

Omg Whitney you and your sisters were so cute! lol. I grew up in Destin FL, and I'm the youngest (9 years younger!!) than my two sisters. We always spent summers out in the water on the boat and on Okaloosa Island. It's beautiful out there, if you loved Miami you will love that area more. Hope your summer is going great!!

my memory is Santa Monica beach every summer with my sisters since i was a kid we would go bike riding we be at the beach all day and take food and all sorts of junk food and it was just carefree and wonderful i love going to beach just reminds me of being a kid in the water with my siblings! =) -nancy
well, honestly, growing up on Long Island, theres nothing to do ever.. summer or winter, its so boring lol, i wanna get out of here so bad! haha But we go to the city a lot and upstate, Lake George is soooo pretty!! O yeah, and the Hamptons and montauk. where i live you always see helicopters in the sky in the summers and you know that its always the celebrities going to the hamptons lol. :) xoxo Alex
Our family have been going to Big Moose Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate NY for over 50 years. It is so calming and peaceful. Cell signals are hit or miss and mostly miss so you are forced to break away from the hustle and bustle of society.
We get no TV in our Camp (houses are called Camps) and spend most of the time hiking, biking, and various out door activities or just sitting on the dock or swimming in the lake. It is so easy to go swimming, all you have to do is walk out the front door and the private dock is right there.
I leave in about 2 weeks and cannot wait!
I'm from Missouri and my family and I go to the Ozarks multiple times a year and we are actually leaving tomorrow to go for the weekend also!! :)
awww so cute! that sounds really fun! every year i go somewhere different with my family in the summer, but i love going to canada to visit my family. Especially my little cousin, he's at the age where he plays all those games we used to play when we were younger and eats nonstop sugar! he's so fun! This summer i went to cape cod, and it was so nice and relaxing, and i want to go again which means i really like it because seldom does my family repeat vacations unless it's to visit relatives. Well have fun on vacation Whitney!
I think it is so awesome that you do that because I leaving tomorrow to do the exact same thing! My whole dad's side of the family has been going to the lake of the ozarks since way before I was born and it is something I look forward to every summer! We tube, ski, wakeboard, and whatever else we come up with! My favorite part is just sharing the memories with my family. I wonder what mile marker you are on because that would be so weird if we were right down the lake from each other!

I live in O'Fallon MO, only about 4 hours away from the Ozarks! I also have the same great memories, of fun times in the Ozarks! Still go every summer also with my family!!! I hope you have a GREAT time!!!

Awwww you were so adorable as a little girl! I miss being young..! I used to have one of those 80's colorful outfits too, those were the coolest.. xD
My family's reunions are always in an outdoorsy setting too.. One of my best memories is of going on reunions at Lake Texoma (on the border of Oklahoma and Texas) my cousin's and I would always go swimming, eat cookout, & go boating/tubing! I love traveling, so I'd have to say another couple of breath-taking memories are of being in Yosemite and getting to see the Colorado rockies..I recommend it to any American, truly makes you appreciate nature in the greatest sense! I hope you have a blast on vacationnnn :] Stay beautiful!

You guys are so lucky over there in USA, I live in the UK so our holidays tend to be very wet, but our countryside is awsome we have fantastic places of interest and if you enjoy getting wet lots of places to explore. Would love to come over to the USA to sample the hospitality and the awsome life you guys tend to lead. Love the City and the Hills.

I am from BC, and have to say that we have a number of lakes to pick and choose from when it comes to summer fun :) My favourite summer memories are from my parent's cabin located on the lake in a small city (Powell River) about 100 KM north of Vancouver, BC. It's only accessible by boat, and we basically spent every summer there. There are about 250 cabins on the lake, and most of my good friends growining up have cabins up there. It's such a beautiful and untouched environment, nothing can compare :)
Can't wait for the City to start back up!

I absolutely love the Ozarks! I hang out there with friends and family as much as possible. I did not know you went to the Ozarks until I actually saw you in person this past week while shopping. It was awesome to meet you! My friends and I absolutely love you! I hope your vacation was relaxing but fun!

I dont know if you really check this, but I do have to agree Randy's and Mini Golf was the BEST!! Oh and the trip to Ozark BBQ on the boat in the freezing COLD!!! And it was July!! LOL Those were my best summers with you guys!! I miss ya and love ya and your brother and sisters! Hope you read this Id really love to talk to you!
