In last night’s episode of The City , we definitely had quite the range of drama! The episode began with Jay and I discussing his upcoming show over lunch. When I mentioned that I had invited Olivia, he made a smart ass little comment about roping an area off so she wouldn’t have to “mingle with the commoners,” (hence the title of the episode).
Erin and I met Olivia at her apartment before heading to the show, but Olivia wasn’t exactly in as big a rush as I was to get there. By the time Olivia was finally ready to go, Jay’s band had already started playing.
I guess Olivia felt bad about making us late, so she got Jay a gig at a charity event she was hosting. What initially seemed like a kind gesture suddenly became an awkward and uncomfortable situation when at the event, all Olivia, Nevan and friends did was make fun of Jay and his band, and they definitely didn’t try to hide it. It’s an understatement to say that Jay was more than ready to go when he finished his set!
When I arrived at work the following day, Olivia asked what I thought of the event and I immediately addressed the situation, which quickly turned into a heated argument between the two of us. Olivia felt that Jay had been unprepared in his attire for such an upscale event and he should have done his research, while I was more concerned with the fact that she and Nevan had completely humiliated Jay’s band. Olivia abruptly ended the discussion noting that the work environment was not the time nor the place for personal matters; nothing was resolved between the two of us.
As for dating and relationship drama in the episode, Erin was definitely the main focus last night. Her high school boyfriend, JR had come back into her life in last week’s episode, and returned again last night to stir up more trouble. Things had been going so well with Duncan, but having JR around left Erin feeling torn and confused.
So that’s pretty much what went down last night — don’t forget to tune in next week to MTV at 10pm to see if Olivia and I sort things out and what happens with Erin’s little love triangle!
In case you missed it, check out last week’s episode recap !

Hey Whitney,
I just got done watching last weeks show, I am shocked at the way Olivia and Nevin acted, first of all the way I look at it is Jay did her a huge favor the band she had backed out and she could not find anyone else nor did she want the headache of making a boat load of calls, so she should of thanked Jay and the band, second Jays band does not have to dress in a suit Neil Diamond would not dress in a suit!!!!! she is the biggest snob ever….this is no joke, I would of choked her by now if I ever had to work with someone like her, she has no respect for other people, everyone in this world is different and if we could chane anything we would get rid of the Olivia’s in this world, so fake and so rude the way she spoke to you, I really hope you only keep a working relationship with her, do not talk about your life or what you did over the weekend and if she ever asks just tell her, I don’t want to feed you to much information….lol my god did the back of your head feel ike it was burning with her sitting behind you??? you do not deserve to be spoken to like you are some iddiot and so disrespectfull to you on tv, you are the better person because I would of done some damage, hey Whitney does Erin have a website to write to her?? I really like her to, could you post something to let me know, keep your head up high and remember one thing Olivia has been so jealous of you since day #1……..ox janice
Whitney,
It is so apparent Olivia is a hater and not looking out for your best interest. She is not geniune and with friends like her who the hell needs enemies! I’m from NYC and she is def one of those stuck up snobby bitches who thinks she knows it all when in reality she’s lonely and insecure (trust me I work with plenty of those). Stop trying to be so nice to her, she doesn’t deserve it. And tell her to shove Nevin up her ….
hi there,
i have no idea if you will actually see this Whitney, but i just wanted to suggest a great book that helped me understand how to play the “politics” without the drama in a job situation…and what to do when there is drama= it’s called The Big Girl’s Guide To The Workplace and it truly helped me understand how poli-tricks can be poison. i realize the show is taped weeks ahead of time, but next time you go to your favorite bookstore-or just search it on-line-trust me-you will appreciate the read.
hey whiney,I really would like to konw if there’s going to be a send pause between season 1 and season 2 ???I hope we all don’t have to wait that much, because I love ” The City “
