My Miami Beach Bikini Malfunction

Sorry that everyone has to see that Whitney! It would definitely suck to have that happen and the whole world see it. Don't worry what anyone says. Your beautiful and just let it roll off your back! Hope you had fun in Miami!

I haven't seen the pictures, but it has happened to me too, once I was surprised by a really big wave in Greece and once I got to my feet my bathing suit was by my knees and my contacts was in the water, so naked without beeing able to see was a very emabarrising moment, but I coulnd't do anything else but laugh. Anyway, I love The City and you are just sooooo beautiful, amazing and talented you should not ever have to be ashamed about anything! Hugs from a fan in Sweden

My goodness, Whitney, do not even worry about it. It's happened to all of us - unfortunately you have cameras there to capture it. There's nothing to be embarassed about. I can't say the same for those awful photographers, though.

Whitney - You can't let the photographers control your life. This has happened to everyone and it's unfortunate that you don't have "private" moments that are for you and your friends/family and not for the whole world to see. I feel for you! Take care and keep true to yourself as you always do!

woohoo! i don't even know you or watch your show, but i did see the headline on the US email I get every week and when i saw that a girl was actually APOLOGIZING for ANYTHING "not so discreet" it immediately caught my attention!! I am a mother of two 17 year old girls trying to raise them with respect and grace, but it is EXTREMELY difficult to do in this sex-driven day we live in! But I was OVERJOYED to read that someone your age would truly CARE enough to actually apologize, and even over something you could hardly control!! THANKS WHITNEY!! Thank you SO much!!

I really don't think you need to apologize for anything, Whit. I've been to the beach and have been a victim of wave-caused bikini malfunctions and if photographers/media haters are going to talk smack about something that happens to nearly every woman on the planet when they're at the beach, famous or not, then they're the lame ones. You always conduct yourself with dignity and class and this is no different; just an "oops" situation getting blown completely out of proportion. You are an amazing person so I wouldn't stress out about it.

In all of my days of celeb blog reading I have never read an apology from a celeb for a wardrobe malfunction! That apology in itself says a lot about your character Whitney! You really are a class act:) Keep up the good work with your show. All the best!

I know the feeling! I live right on the beach and a few times the ocean got the best of me. It's not like you purposely did it like some celebrities.

i am really impressed on how you handled this! seriously, it shows how down to earth you really are. most celebrities would complain about the invasion of privacy or avoided it completely but you handled this perfectly. honestly, it really happens to everyone and there's nothing you can really do about it.

It is nothing anyone should EVER have to apologize for. A photographer took your picture when you were not expecting---you didn't do anything wrong. Having fun in the sun--in Canada and many other parts of the world we are allowed to tan and swim topless and it is not a big deal---there boobies---we all have them :)

Just wanted to say you are a breath of fresh air within the click you hang out with. I'm your age and if you read this I just hope you take away my appreciation and respect for you and my encouragement to keep setting the bar VERY HIGH for young girls- to not give in to social pressures, to take work seriously and carry themselves with confidence like you.

aside from all the deserving comments left about your undoubtedble class, and beauty...I just want to say, it was refreshing to see a young female "celebrity," photographed on the beach being completely natural...i'm not a big fan of tabloids or "celeb-watch sites" but (what is out there) its kind of disheartening to see picture after picture of different young female actresses/artists etc, on vacation, yet not really vacationing?! i mean, if anyone goes to the beach, its natural to play around, go in the water, and "waldrobe malfunctions" are INEVITABLELY going to happen, even to the best of us. And I really feel bad that your's was caught on camera, yet, i find its absolutely enduring that you weren't sitting around suntanning for hours on end, afraid something like this might happen...and that's what speaks the most volumes!
