Hey everyone! So last night was the big night -- I hope all of you were able to watch The City and I would love to hear what you thought of it.
Me and my entire family gathered at my house in LA to watch it and I thought it would be fun to give you a little recap with my own take on the episode -- and a little juicy behind the scenes stuff too!
The episode began with an introduction of my transition from LA life to city life and I can't even tell you how sad I was to see the scene of me and Lauren saying goodbye. My eyes got really watery and I almost broke down, but within seconds excitement took over!
So the episode introduced you guys to a lot of new people! First came Olivia, who I met on my first day at Diane Von Furstenberg. I was already so nervous for my first day there, and it became even worse when I met her because she seemed so experienced! Olivia taught me what a socialite really is -- I mean I sort of knew the parameters of what it takes to be a "social" considering I have grown up in Hollywood, but I found it so interesting that you can be completely self-made in the cutthroat environment that is New York Çity!
Next Erin was introduced. She and I actually met through our ex-boyfriends (they were best friends) at Coachella -- a big music festival. We had all stayed in an RV together there and instantly hit it off! I loved her free spirit and outgoing personality and I knew our friendship would last.
And of course, you all already knew Jay from The Hills! It was so crazy/surreal for me to have one of my first dates with Jay filmed! First dates are awkward enough, let alone having four cameras in your face, but our connection was so real that it didn't even phase us! I love the part where Jay does his American accent lol. I force him to do it ALL the time. It's one of my favorite things he does! My attempt at an Australian accent is something he could do without, i'm sure.
After the date, I didn't think the cameras had caught us kissing down the street, but sure enough they did!!!
The DVF fashion show was probably one of the most hectic days of my life! My first week of work and I was already working backstage at Diane Von Furstenberg's spring show and meeting her for the first time. We had an awesome front row that included Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Uma Thurman, Rosario Dawson, Rachel Zoe, Molly Sims, and so many others -- everything turned out absolutely beautifully -- it was a BIG day for DVF!
Have to run out for a bit, but I'll post more from last night's episode later this afternoon! Ciao.
All of these pics came from Monday night's episode on THECITY.MTV.COM.

I absolutely loved the show and will continue to keep watching!!! I'm from NY originally and wathcing the show made me miss it. You are such a sweet person and feel you are very down to earth on the show. NY is full of alot of people that aren't what they say so please watch out and don't beleive everything you hear. You are definitely too nice for NY. :)
Hey Whitney! Thanks for doing this recap/writing on your blog! I hope you continue, even if you get more bigger and busier! I think it's awesome u're reaching out personally.
Loved the first 2 eps! You are definitely shown in a different light on your show--smart and can take of yourself--and I love it! Best of luck in NY!
I enjoyed you show last night...I knew I would...you're such a sweet young lady...I'm super happy that you have this opportunity to follow your dream...Enjoy yourself in NY and I wish you the best...Can't wait to see what happens this coming Monday.
Loved the Show..Its a Hit!!! I get the Head Band thing now.lol. Wishing you all the Best in your Career & Luv Life. Be Careful though... I would NOT Trust Olivia if I were You & Id watch my back w/ her (Shes easy to read). Keep her as a "Working" Aqcauntance Only ( In my opinion). You seem Sweet & People like to take advantage of that. Although You seem Smart too, Just... Trust Your Gut Always!!! Well have a Happy & Safe New Years. Looking foward to Monday Night Shows. :) xox
I really enjoyed your show. My boyfriend even watches it. It's so good to see what you do and what's going on with your life since it wasn't filmed as much in the hills. I am such a huge fan of both shows. I wish you well in your career. Don't pay attention to all the haters out there especially Perez. You are so genuine! I agree with Hazel with her comment about watching out after Olivia. Maybe the camera portrays her in a different light who knows but just be cautious.
FAKKKKKEEEEEE GET OUT OF NYC
sorry hun, but it was sooooooo bad.
I really LOVED the show so far. But as my family was watching the show, we think that Olivia has a little thing for Jay so that's what we are looking forward to because she kept asking so many questions about him so yeah. We really like your show and my mom thinks that Jay is pretty cute too so he's a creeper. But anyways, keep up the good work and I will keep watching your new show.[:
Loved it! So sophisticated and defintetely different from the Hills. I love your fashion style Whitney, I really do.
I had one question for you, I hope you can answer it:
Now that you have your own fashion line and you're a designer, do you have to be able to draw really well to get in that field? I'm really into fashion and designing, but I'm certainly not the best drawer.
Hope you answer my question...love you! Can't wait for next week!
Hi Whitney,
Loved, loved the show. You are an Inspiration.
I so fell in love with the backless mini dresses that you were wearing. The purple one that you did wear to the first date with Jay and then the more golden one that you did wear to Olivia's dinner party. Can you please, please tell me who the designer is?
I am sure that the show is going to be a huge hit! Wish you were on with new episodes every night : )
Looking forward from hearing from you soon!
All the best!
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
HA! whitney i loved it!! aww i know i hated to see u and whitney leave eachother. :{ cant wait till the next!
I thought the accent part of the date was the best part, it made me laugh so hard. Me and my sister has DVR and we'd rewind it a couple times. Good Times good times!
Whitney... You're such a wannabe. Get outta NY, cuz you are obviously not strong enough to handle us. it's " world of Cali at all, so go back to your "glamorous" little lifestyle and get over yourself.lmao.
omg eww tell those haters to shut up. wtf how is whitney a wannabe??
WHITNEY I LOVE THE SHOWWW!!! omg i love jays american accent that is soooo cute id make him do it all the time!!! ur show is so fabulous and i love all the clothes!!best of luck
Whitney! I thought your first two episodes were AMAZING! I love your show and I will be tuned in every monday!
As I was watching the first episode I fell in love with the black backless dress you wore on your date with jay, and I was wondering who was the designer? If you could answer my question that would mean the world to me! Thanks and once again I love the new series! Best of Luck!!!
It's a dumb show with dumb people.

Love your style, of course :)
Best of Luck!!!

i loved it so much!!!!! to be honest, i was not expecting to like it as much as i did...same with my friends--who did not watch it--but don't worry i will make sure that they do from now on :)
Did Whitney go down under on the Aussie
Did Jay fill all of Whitney's ports
Did Jay wear a rubber
I am totally going to keep watching! Erin is so awesome and I can't wait to see how much fun you two have together. Jay is really cute and Olivia well she hit a sour note with me. Keep it up girl you are going to do fabulous in NYC.
Loved the show can't wait for the season! Olivia is a sweet girl in real life and I hope you're having a lot of fun. By the way, "social" and "socialite" are two totally different things. (As to not confuse people) Congrats on your success, hope you're loving NYC!
Whitney, your show is so amusing-you and your poser friends all have brains the size of peanuts and only a loser channel like MTV would ever want to televise your poor fake pathetic life. You are young enough-hopefully you'll get a clue one of these days!
I loved the show! way better than the hills and it has a bit more of a grown up feel to it. I think you are such a sweetheart! Finally you get to talk! I Dont really like Olivia, yuck! why did she keep asking about Jay? Please dont let olivia ruin you! :)
Love the show Whitney!! I must admit, I'm already hooked. I just wanted to say I really appreciate how focused and hard working you are. I wish you great success and I can’t wait to watch the remainder of the season.
Hey Whitney!
Wow, I loved The City! I can't wait to watch more of it. I'm glad there were back to back episodes otherwise I would've been so bummed that I would have to wait, but the second episode left the biggest cliffhanger ever! I love how the show explores a whole new side of New York. I have plans of moving there when I'm older, but watching the show scared me because it's so different than living in Canada. I still would love to live in New York but in the meantime I still have a year to plan before I do! Can't wait for the next episode! XOXO
Your "home in LA"? I thought you "lived" in NYC? Just more proof that this show, and you, are fake. Stay in LA and please take Snorelivia with you.
Hi Whitney!!!
I watch The City on MTV web site, because I live in Brazil and I believe we'll have to wait a little bit till the television transmit it.
Sorry, my english is not very good, but I had to tell that I Loved the show!
Whit you are an amazing person.. i've been loving you from the very beggining.Wish you all the best. hope you will be happy cause u deserve all the best. Xxxx
I loved it! Even more so than The Hills and I have been following that since Season 1. I hope you have many Seasons of The City! I'm from the UK and we don't get The City here so I downloaded both episodes. I hope everything works out with Jay and Erin seems like a sweetheart. Can't wait to see you find your own place. And as always, your outfits are amazing. xx
Hey Whitney! I just started watching your show and it's amazing! I think I love it so much because I dream of working in the fashion industry and living in New York City. Your my inspiration!!
the person who said ur fake is fuck face ur so perfect for ny its inseane! i lov all ur new frends on the show and i am going to be loyal viewer!
I don't understand why people feel the need to attack her and call her names. I don't know her and you don't know her, so why judge? You all are the ones with issues. If you're that upset that her life is better than yours...do something about it!
Whitney, I am sure you don't listen to these people and it goes without saying...but, keep doing what you're doing. It's obviously working for you!
does anyone know what the black shoes are that whitney wore on her date in the first episode?
i love them
Hello Whitney! I just think this is awesome that you've created a blog of your own to interact with fans. I think that both The Hills and The City are real and even if they're not I still love them. lol I can watch every re-run and never get bored. You and Lauren have always been my favorite on the MTV reality show line-ups. I must share with you my friends and co-workers compare me to you often; it's a huge compliment. I like how you take initiative to seek after your goals which has motivated me to do the same in changing jobs and reaching my full potential.
Anyway, I don't want to get too carried away and hopefully you really get to read everyone's posts despite your busy schedule. MAKE THAT MONEY!! haha
LOVED the show Whitney! You looked absolutely gorgeous in every scene by the way :) I like the relationship you have with Kelly-- I would love to have a boss like her. Alixe seems pretty cool as well. I like Erin, she's so pretty and bubbly! Jay seems like he has good intentions, but I don't like the advice Adam gives him. I hope you don't end up going through the drama that Audrina had to go through with Justin (about his fear of commitment). Olivia is really pretty but somehow her personality takes away from that-- she seems like a really fake, selfish person. And you, of course, are the best!! I really hope that moving to New York helps you grow as a person but doesn't change how sweet and genuine you are. Oh, and I also loveddd that purple, backless Opening Ceremony dress you wore on your first date with Jay-- show off those legs girl! =)
hey i was wondering where your purple dress is from with blue swirls and purple ones! you were wearing it in episode 2 of the city when you were eating lunch with jay!
The City is a must for me. I love any show that gives me a peep inside the fashion industry.
I don’t think you need a ton of drama for this show to work.
My advice to you Whitney: stop over analysing and enjoy yourself!
Who is the designer of those black shoes you are wearing? It is a peep toe with a thick ankle strap. I absolutely love those and kind find them anywhere!
Whitney, great show. Congrats moving from sunny, warm LA to NYC. I spent a few of my young years there since my parents both grew up in NYC. The family just spent this past xmas in the city. My cousin was singing the lead of the Magic Flute at the MET so we try to see him at least once a year whereever he is.
Anyway, I was just reading about the actress Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl) and has anyone ever told you you really favor her?
good luck in the city...
Jeannie
did anyone find out what the actual shoes with the thick ankle strap whitney has on in the intro?
